Our association held its General Assembly on January 7th in a somewhat complicated context. Health measures were respected so that the Assembly could proceed smoothly. President Yves Laval opened this general assembly with his moral report: Wishing each other a happy new year in these times of pandemic seems surreal, and yet… and yet that is truly what I wish for all of you: to live this year 2022 without constraints, relaxed, with the desire to plan for the future, to travel, to reconnect with family and friends, to not be afraid to hug each other, to kiss each other… all these almost forgotten gestures that are so important… yes, truly that is what I wish for you for 2022. Throughout this year 2021, in the context you know, SCE continued on its merry way, because even though we had to cancel almost all of our events, the loyalty of our sponsors, the support of local authorities (the town hall of Saint-Chamond, the Loire department), and the numerous donors allowed us to help many families in great difficulty in Peru, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. In these challenging times, let's focus on the positive, because there is some… First, after numerous interventions, letters, and phone calls, SCE has once again been recognized as a public interest association and authorized to issue tax receipts to donors. We have just signed a partnership agreement with the mayor of Saint-Chamond, who wishes to establish a Friendship Charter with the Roshi inter-municipal community in Nepal. This inter-municipal community (equivalent to a French department) comprises 17 villages and approximately 4,500 people. We should be organizing the lottery on March 27th, a concert with the band Let's Goldman on June 11th at the A. Briand hall, a concert with the Ste Marie school in the first half of June, another lottery in the fall... Even if this year 2022 seems to be shaping up to be a bit complicated, let's not give up, let's continue our events as much as possible, let's think of those who don't have our luck, we French, of being cared for, helped... many people on our planet envy us... let's think about that!!! let's continue our actions, our sponsorships, to continue to help them... They are counting on us... Then the secretary and the treasurer presented the activity report and the financial report which were unanimously adopted by the members present.
